Project Description

April 2014-May 2017

In April 2014, All-Together Housing launched its first Healthy Space housing project. The project was made possible through a very generous donation of property by the Zegouras family in memory of their parents Diane and George Zegouras, former mayor for the City of Belleville and with substantial support from foundations, local businesses and housing champions.

In August 2014 we hosted an Open House for donors to view the progress we had made in our renovations to the building.

The 4000 square foot Victorian age brick building , located at the corner of Victoria Avenue and Church Street (Belleville), was built in 1880 by a local doctor and was occupied by doctors until 1957.  The building, complete with a two-storey carriage house, is listed in City of Belleville’s Heritage Buildings.

The project was completed in May 2017 (although our last two tenants were able to move in in November 2016) It is home to low-income individuals facing complex health-related issues, both physical and mental. Our valued partners CMHA-HPE and HIV/AIDS Regional Services (HARS) provide referrals and support to our tenants.

The project comprises three 1-bedroom or studio-style units, two transitional units for persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, onsite laundry facilities, common areas for tenants both inside and outside and community oriented space for use by service and health-care agencies providing support to our tenants.
