Great St. James Place—An Inclusive, Engaged Community
“Our goal at CVNQuinte is to empower people with developmental disabilities,” said CVNQuinte Executive Director Terri Korkush. “All-Together Housing and Springdale Development have truly gone above and beyond when it comes to the accessibility of this project. Not only does this give the people we support a safe and affordable space to live, it contributes to a wonderful and inclusive community. We are very pleased to be a part of this project and look forward to what the future holds for the individuals living here.” - Belleville Magazine Fall 2022
Located within the City of Belleville, Great St. James is our newest building. Strategically placed along a public transit line, it consists of a mix of Longterm and Transitional housing—32 housing units (affordable and market) with mixed apartment types, primarily 1 bedroom/studios as well as three 3-bedroom units which are used by the Enrichment Centre-HPE as part of their transitional housing program.
The 17 affordable units are available to other partner agencies to refer and support tenants who may need additional assistance with wholly independent living. The building also contains 15 market rent units making the building an inclusive environment.
Great St. James is fully accessible and includes smart technology, an office space for use by partner agencies, a shared Community Hub with fully accessible kitchen for cooking classes and tenant-run café and an outdoor patio area. Free lunch is provided to tenants twice weekly with various activities and community gatherings in that space.
Great St. James has a No Smoking policy within the building, including individual units. Designated smoking areas outside the building are provided.
Affordable units work to a goal of 70-80% of average market rent and we work with Hastings County to secure rent subsidies for our tenants experiencing deep poverty.
Great St. James is owned by All-Together Housing and Springale Development and is managed under the Quinte Community and Housing First Partnership model.
